Animal husbandry

 

Prisma Prod's animal husbandry division is located in Sieu-Magherus, No 283, in Bistrita-Nasaud county, Romania. The main objective is pig farming for meat and producing pig, cow and chicken fodder. The company has it own farm, the most modern in all of Transilvania. The animal health and welfare standards in our farm exceeds those imposed by the European Union. The pigs are bred from PIC Camborough bitches and F1 (MxL) Hungapig bitches.

In order to breed pigs for meat of high quality and standards, our farm uses semen from a Duroc race pig. It's qualities are certified by UARZ. We also use semen from a PIC410 pig which is curently number one based on performance in Romania. By Cris-crossing the Camborough/Hungapig with the Duroc/PIC410 we obtain healthy pigs with fast breeding and growth. Their carcass is of highest standards ( E and U classes are guaranteed ).

Our farm's production capacity is of more than 3000 pigs per year, each of them being sent to the slaughter-house. We kindly ask you to visit our farm if you have any other questions or concerns.
